FOR CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
What Issues Do I Work With?
I work with children and teenagers, helping them cope with emotional difficulties, adapt to life changes, and build healthier relationships with the world around them.
In my practice, I use safe and well-established psychological methods.
You May Seek Support With the Following Issues:
  • Anxiety and fears
  • Difficulties with self-identity and self-discovery
  • Behavioral difficulties
  • Problems communicating with peers and adults
  • Adaptation to school or new environments
  • School-related difficulties (academic performance, discipline, complaints from teachers)
  • Family changes (divorce, separation, absence of a parent)
  • Low self-esteem and self-doubt
  • Family conflicts, sibling rivalry, and jealousy
  • Developmental crises (age 3, age 7, adolescence)
Examples of my demo sessions are available on the B17 website.

Work with Parents
I also provide consultations for parents on topics such as:
  • Parenting
  • Parent-child relationships
  • Understanding age-related developmental stages
  • Supporting a child through difficult situations
If you notice changes in your child’s behavior or emotional state, it is important not to ignore them or hope the problem will disappear on its own.

In most cases, unresolved difficulties tend to intensify over time, requiring more effort and emotional resources later.

📩 Book a consultation — the earlier we begin supporting a child, the faster they can become more confident, emotionally stable, and happier.

How Are Sessions Structured?
Meeting with the Parents. Defining the Problem. Choosing the Therapeutic Approach.
The parent’s request is discussed in advance, followed by an introductory meeting with the family.
We discuss the terms of cooperation (including a therapeutic agreement), payment conditions, session schedule, and technical arrangements.

Methods of Work

Every child is unique, which is why the therapeutic approach is selected individually, taking into account the child’s age, developmental characteristics, and current emotional state.

The work is carried out in a safe, supportive, and emotionally comfortable environment.

In my practice, I use age-appropriate methods adapted to the child’s needs and therapeutic goals, including:

  • Art therapy
  • Sandplay and play therapy
  • Fairy tale therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques
  • Other approaches when appropriate and necessary
ART THERAPY
How Creativity Helps Resolve Psychological Difficulties

Art therapy is a gentle and effective method of psychological support that uses drawing, sculpting, music, and other creative techniques. Through artistic expression, children can communicate emotions, fears, and experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

How Can Art Therapy Help?

✅ Helps children express emotions. A child can safely release anxiety, anger, sadness, or tension through creative activity.

✅ Reduces stress levels. Creative work has a calming effect and helps develop concentration and emotional regulation.

✅ Reveals inner conflicts. Through drawings and symbolic images, the therapist can better understand what is troubling the child.

✅ Builds self-confidence. There is no “right” or “wrong” in art therapy — children learn to trust and accept their own ideas and feelings.

✅ Improves communication skills. Especially helpful for shy, withdrawn, or emotionally reserved children.

✅ Helps process fears and anxiety. Using metaphors and symbols, children can gradually work through difficult emotions and experiences.

What Issues Does Art Therapy Help With?

🔸 Anxiety, fears, and nightmares

🔸 Aggression and hyperactivity

🔸 Adaptation difficulties (kindergarten, school, relocation, immigration)

🔸 Communication difficulties

🔸 Low self-esteem

🔸 Family conflicts and sibling jealousy

How Does a Session Work?

In-Person Sessions

Creative materials are used during the session, including:

  • Paper (A4 format or larger)
  • Colored pencils
  • Markers
  • Paints
  • Modeling clay

Materials are prepared by the parents in advance.

Online Sessions

Online sessions are conducted using a digital whiteboard.

For participation, the child will need:

  • A tablet and stylus
  • Internet access

If the child prefers sculpting with modeling clay instead of drawing, the psychologist observes the process, asks supportive questions, and helps the child understand and express emotions.

Parents may also participate in certain exercises when appropriate.

🎨 Average duration: 6–12 sessions

Art therapy is not an art lesson — it is a gentle and creative way to help a child better understand themselves, express feelings, and cope with emotional difficulties in a safe and playful environment.

📩 If you would like to discuss whether art therapy may be suitable for your child, you are welcome to book a consultation and ask any questions you may have.

SANDPLAY THERAPY
How Working with Sand Helps Resolve Psychological Difficulties

Sandplay therapy is a psychological method in which a child creates their own world in a sandbox using miniature figures, natural materials, and symbolic objects. Through play, children can express emotions, experiences, and inner conflicts, even when they struggle to describe them verbally.

How Can Sandplay Therapy Help?

✅ Safe emotional expression

Children can reenact stressful situations without fear of judgment.

✅ Reduction of anxiety and aggression

Working with sand has a calming effect and helps release emotional tension.

✅ Development of speech and imagination

By creating stories and symbolic worlds, children learn to express thoughts and feelings more clearly.

✅ Processing inner conflicts

Through play, the therapist can better understand what is emotionally troubling the child.

✅ Improved communication skills

Especially beneficial for withdrawn, shy, or hyperactive children.

✅ Support during adaptation

Children learn to cope with life changes such as relocation, kindergarten, or school transitions.

What Issues Does Sandplay Therapy Help With?

🔹 Fears, anxiety, and nightmares

🔹 Aggression, impulsivity, and hyperactivity

🔹 Difficulties communicating with peers or adults

🔹 Low self-esteem and insecurity

🔹 Stress related to parental divorce or the birth of a sibling

🔹 Psychosomatic symptoms (frequent illnesses related to emotional stress)

How Does a Session Work?

The child chooses figures (people, animals, fairy-tale characters, symbolic objects) and creates their own world in the sandbox.

The psychologist observes the process, asks gentle questions, and supports reflection without interfering directly in the child’s play. This creates a sense of emotional safety and freedom.

Over time, difficult emotions and life situations are processed naturally through symbolic play.

Before the first session, I provide parents with detailed guidance on how to prepare the therapeutic workspace.

This is not simply a game — it is a gentle and supportive way to help a child cope with emotional difficulties and inner experiences.

🏖 Average duration: 8–15 sessions

📩 If you would like to learn whether sandplay therapy may be suitable for your child, you are welcome to book a consultation and ask any questions you may have.

FAIRY TALE THERAPY How Stories and Fairy Tales Help Resolve Psychological Difficulties

Fairy tale therapy is an engaging psychological approach that uses therapeutic stories, metaphors, and symbolic narratives. Through characters and storytelling, children can safely explore emotions, inner conflicts, and ways of coping with difficult situations.

How Can Fairy Tale Therapy Help?

✅ Helps children express emotions. Through fairy tale characters, children often find it easier to talk about fears, anger, sadness, or hurt feelings.

✅ Reduces anxiety. Warm and supportive stories create a sense of safety and emotional comfort.

✅ Teaches problem-solving. Children observe how characters overcome difficulties and gradually transfer this experience into real life.

✅ Develops empathy and moral awareness. Children learn to distinguish between constructive and destructive behavior and understand the consequences of actions.

✅ Supports adaptation to change. Helpful during relocation, starting school, or the arrival of a sibling.

✅ Strengthens the parent-child bond. Shared discussion of stories can deepen emotional connection within the family.

What Issues Does Fairy Tale Therapy Help With?

🔸 Fears (darkness, doctors, monsters, separation anxiety)

🔸 Aggression, tantrums, and oppositional behavior

🔸 Low self-esteem and shyness

🔸 Sibling jealousy

🔸 Difficulties communicating with peers

🔸 Adaptation to kindergarten or school

How Do Sessions Work?

The psychologist reads or tells specially selected therapeutic stories adapted to the child’s emotional needs and difficulties.

Children may also be invited to create their own stories, which often reveals important inner experiences and emotional themes.

Stories are discussed together through questions such as:

  • “What would you do in the hero’s place?”
  • “What do you think the character was feeling?”

Puppets, drawings, or sandplay elements may also be used to reenact scenes and deepen emotional understanding.

📖 Average duration: 6–12 sessions

📩 If you would like to discuss whether fairy tale therapy may be suitable for your child, you are welcome to book a consultation and ask any questions you may have.

CBT

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based psychological approach focused on understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behavior. In a child-adapted format, CBT helps children cope with anxiety, fears, aggression, and other emotional difficulties.

How Can CBT Help Children?

✅ Helps children manage emotions. Children learn to recognize what triggers anxiety, anger, sadness, or frustration.

✅ Changes negative thinking patterns. Replacing thoughts such as: “I can’t do anything right” with healthier alternatives like: “I can try and learn.”

✅ Reduces anxiety and fears. Through gradual and supportive exposure to difficult situations.

✅ Improves behavior. Helping reduce tantrums, aggression, avoidance, and emotional outbursts.

✅ Develops problem-solving skills. Children learn to face challenges instead of avoiding them.

✅ Supports psychosomatic symptoms. Such as headaches or stomachaches related to stress and anxiety.

What Issues Does CBT Help With?

🔹 Anxiety disorders, fears, and phobias

🔹 Depression and low mood

🔹 Aggression and anger outbursts

🔹 Obsessive-compulsive symptoms (intrusive thoughts and repetitive behaviors)

🔹 Adaptation difficulties (school, kindergarten, new environments)

🔹 Low self-esteem and perfectionism

How Do Sessions Work?

CBT for children is not based on dry lectures — sessions involve games, exercises, and creative activities.

Examples include:

  • “Thought Traps” Learning to notice and challenge negative thoughts
  • “Fear Ladder” Gradually becoming more comfortable with feared situations
  • Role-playing games Practicing healthier responses during conflicts or stressful situations
  • Emotion journals Exploring feelings and ways of coping with them

When necessary, parents are included in the therapeutic process to support the child and help reinforce new skills in everyday life.

Why Is CBT Effective?

CBT gives children practical tools they can use in real life. It is not just conversation — it is active practice that helps children become calmer, more confident, and emotionally resilient.

🧠 Average duration: 10–20 sessions

📩 If you would like to discuss whether CBT may be suitable for your child, you are welcome to book a consultation and ask any questions you may have.
